Leader of the Canberra Liberals Alistair Coe has welcomed the establishment of a select committee to examine the ACT Government’s COVID-19 response.
The select committee was established following a motion in the Assembly by the ACT Opposition Whip Andrew Wall.
“The ACT Government has been given significant power to respond to a rapidly evolving public health crisis,” Mr Coe said.
“While the Canberra Liberals are very interested to work collaboratively with the ACT Government, it is important that there is transparency of government decisions to ensure community confidence throughout the crisis.
“Canberrans deserve to have confidence that significant decisions made on their behalf are proportionate and appropriately scrutinised,” Mr Coe said.
