Public Meeting to be conducted by the ACT Government
Date: Wednesday 29 April 2009
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location: Nicholls Community Centre, Kelleway Avenue (next to Gold Creek Primary School)
Alistair Coe MLA, the Shadow Minister for Urban Services and Liberal Member for Ginninderra, recently moved a motion in the Legislative Assembly calling on the Government to listen to the concerns of the Nicholls community regarding the Nicholls Shops car park.
“The problem with the Nicholls shops car park is simple: it does not have enough capacity for the size of the shops, there are no loading zones, and the car park is too narrow, creating safety issues and causing many accidents,” Alistair told the Assembly.
“The Government’s plan for the upgrade of the car park does not reflect all the needs and desires of Nicholls residents and businesses.”
“A large number of people have contacted me with concerns about this project. This is evidence the Government’s consultation has been lacking.”
Alistair encourages all residents and businesses to attend the public meeting conducted by the ACT Government so that we can get the car park right for Nicholls.
